Can I use AAA batteries or 9V batteries ?   Date: Monday 12 March, 2007
FAQ Summary:

FAQ Content:
AAA batteries allow to run a luxeon LED, but with less autonomy than with AA batteries. 9V batteries are simply not sufficient to provide the required current (700 mA to 1A) and have an autonomy of 5 minutes. Autonomy is defined as the duration during which the battery can provide the nominal current of the LED while displaying a voltage > to the luxeon forward voltage, therefore with a constant brightness.
To compensate the lower capacity of AAA batteries, you can use more wired in serie (5 or 6, with our luxeon controller Crystal Focus).
